Official Bulletin of the Rotary Club of Steubenville
District 6650 Club 3609
Welcome to another issue of our monthly bulletin! Find out who our upcoming speakers are, what we covered during the last month's meetings, and learn more about our the Rotary Club of Steubenville and Rotary International!

COMINGS AND GOINGS

The board has accepted the resignation of Kyle Brown who is making his primary residence in Florida most of the year. Kyle originally thought he would maintain his membership with our club and visit clubs near him but with so many clubs not meeting it just was not possible.  He hopes to visit with us when he is in the area and said who knows he may change his mind and rejoin.  Our best to him and Shelia.

Board action was also taken on selecting a new president for the 2021-2022 Rotary year and we thank Ross Gallabrese for stepping up to the plate and continuing in that roll.  This will make Ross the first president to preside two years in a row.  It is my understanding more and more clubs are following the same path.

ROTARY MEETINGS

We will continue with ZOOM meetings for the immediate future on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month.   Soon we will all have vaccines and feel much more comfortable about meeting in person.

ZOOM Meetings
January 6  -  General Meeting - Please join us as we catch up with members and talk about new fundraising ideas.  Everyone joining us will get a few minutes to tell us what you have been up to.  It is very hard to chat with our Rotary friends so this will be your opportunity.
January 20 -  Rotarian Chris Major will share with you his passion for the game of chess.  His program will be 'Developing relationships and peace through chess'.  You will learn about many of his travels and programs around the world.

DO NOT FORGET TO MAIL IN YOUR YEARLY RAFFLE TICKETS.  Randy will pull January winners on the 20th.

BELL RINGING FOR THE SALVATION ARMY
Curtis reported our Bell Ringers brought in $562.06.  Thank you to everyone who participated and for those who made sure someone covered their shift if they were not able.

ROTARY PROGRAMS

If you have a program in mind for 2021 please let me know.

Since our last International Zoom meeting was a success I am searching for others.

Can Someone help me Out ?

I am 81 years old and I have so many unanswered questions!!

I still haven't found out who let the dogs out or where the beef is...I still don't know how to get to Sesame Street, and in this age of technology, why doesn't Dora just use Google Maps?

Why do all flavors of fruit loops taste exactly the same, or just how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

Why are eggs and light bulbs packaged in a flimsy containers, but batteries are secured in plastic that's tough as nails?

Ever buy scissors? You need scissors to cut into the packaging of scissors! I still don't understand why there is Braille on drive up ATM's or why "abbreviated" is such a long word. Why is there a "D" in "fridge" but not in "refrigerator"....Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor yet dish-washing liquid is made with real lemons?

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections? And why do you have to "put your two cents in"...but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"...where's that extra penny going to anyway?

Why does the Alphabet Song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star have the same tune, and why did you just try to sing those two previous songs?

And just what is Victoria's secret. And what would you do for a Klondike bar when you know as soon as you bite into it it's gonna fall apart? Does she or doesn't she what? Why do you care if I got milk?

And do you really think I am this witty?!?! I actually got this from a friend, who stole it from her brother's girlfriend's uncle's cousin's baby momma's doctor who lived next door to an old classmate's mail man!

Now it is your turn to take it from me...Peace!!

Copy and Paste, change the age, and enjoy your day!!

TIME FOR HUMOR

Let's start the year with a bit of humor...

Q:  How many Past Club Presidents does it take to change a light bulb.

A:  Only one, but all of them will want to make a speech.
